In the morning:
Again, turn off your technology for 30 minutes… Today, take a 30-minute walk, allowing your footsteps to fall into the rhythm of your whispering the Jesus Prayer: “Lord, Jesus, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.”
At noon:
Spend 15 minutes in silence and solitude.
In the evening:
Do the Daily Examen.
- Acknowledge how God’s presence was with you through the day. Although the day may seem confusing, ask God to bring you clarity and understanding.
- Count your blessings and give thanks. Pay attention even to the small details of the day – God was in every part of your day.
- Pay attention to your emotions. What can you learn about yourself from God as you review your emotions from the day?
- Choose one feature of the day and pray from it. Ask the Holy Spirit to direct you to something during the day that God thinks is particularly important.
- Look forward to tomorrow. Ask God to give you light for tomorrow’s challenges.
