In the morning:
Turn off all technology and take 30 minutes or so to use spend time in God’s Word. You might want to grab a notebook or journal to jot down what God is teaching you in the passage.
Use the STAR Method on the following passage:
S – Scripture: Proverbs 1:1-9
T – Truth Expressed: What truth can you pull out of this passage? Is there a word or phrase that stands out to you? What do you think God might be saying to you through that word or phrase?
A – Application: How do you think you could apply that truth to your life?
R – Response: Now that you know what you should do, what will you do? How will you apply the truth? When will you do it?
At noon:
Spend 5-15 minutes in solitude and silence, enjoying the presence of God.
In the evening:
Spend 15-20 minutes doing the Daily Examen.
- Acknowledge how God’s presence was with you through the day. Although the day may seem confusing, ask God to bring you clarity and understanding.
- Count your blessings and give thanks. Pay attention even to the small details of the day – God was in every part of your day.
- Pay attention to your emotions. What can you learn about yourself from God as you review your emotions from the day?
- Choose one feature of the day and pray from it. Ask the Holy Spirit to direct you to something during the day that God thinks is particularly important.
- Look forward to tomorrow. Ask God to give you light for tomorrow’s challenges.
